Remember the health of the forest is our priority. Our goal is to preserve the forest for future generations to enjoy. Please respect the ecology of the forest and minimize your impact on the forest. Wherever possible, please stay on the trails and leave no trace.

The Copeland Forest is a key component to summer and winter activities at Horseshoe Resort. The trail network is used for cross-country riding and hiking for summer resort guests as well as thousands of winter guests who enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking.

Trail enthusiasts will experience a good mix of everything from flat trails for beginners to hilly terrain for the more adventurous. Summer trails aren’t marked, but the Copeland Forest map is provided and staff will make recommendations on the best routes for resort guests. Winter trails are marked for both distance and difficulty so those skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking can easily choose their adventure.

The Copeland Forest through Horseshoe Resort has been a mainstay of cross-country skiing in the area for decades. With a variety of terrain, there is something for everyone. A true winter wonderland.
