The following text is the Copeland Forests Friends Land acknowledgement to the Indigenous people of the Forest area:

We acknowledge the first peoples who walked this land before us. This Forest is on the traditional territories of the Indigenous Nations and, in particular, the Anishinaabeg, Wendat and Haudenosaunee.

We acknowledge the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples connected to this land. We are grateful for the opportunity to experience this territory and we are committed to moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation and respect.
