First AGM a Success

First AGM a Success

April 22, 2016 News

We held our first Annual General Meeting on Saturday February 20th, 2016 at W.R. Best Public School where we welcomed over 70 members. David Kennedy, Copeland Forest Friends Board President, welcomed everyone and gave an overview of our progress to date.

The Association has a positive bank balance, thanks to over 125 memberships and donations. And, we have developed a work plan for this year which has now been submitted to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests for review. David’s presentation and the financial statement are now on-line.

The membership confirmed the Board for 2016. Your Directors are:

David Kennedy, President – Snow Sport user group rep
Tedd Duncan, Vice-President – Anglers and Hunters user group rep
Neil Craig, Treasurer – Business user group rep
Mary Anne Greatrix, Secretary – Director-at-large
Dave Lord – Naturalist user group rep
Ingrid VanderMarel – Resident user group rep
Bob Marshall – Hiker user group rep
Mike Van der Jagt – Director-at-large
Andrew Doble – Horseshoe Resort rep
Sandy McLoughlin – Horseback Rider user group rep
Ted Greatrix – Mountain Bike user group rep

We also shared some good conversation and made new friends over delicious snacks and coffee. We broke into individual user group meetings where everyone had an opportunity to share ideas and discuss issues pertinent to their groups. The board is now reviewing these issues and we will update you soon.
