Fall Deer Hunting Schedule in Copeland

Fall Deer Hunting Schedule in Copeland

November 11, 2015 News
Deer Hunting platform in tree near 5th line

A reminder to everyone that deer hunting occurs in Copeland Forest and is restricted to muzzle-loading guns. The 2015 season is two weeks long and runs from Monday, November 2 to Friday, November 6th and Monday, November 30 to Friday, December 4th. This year, the quota for each week is 40 deer. As well, hunters may use bows from October 1st to December 31st (except during the two weeks reserved for muzzle-loading guns).

Even though the level of hunting may be low in Copeland, it is always important to be alert to hunting in the fall and early winter. Please also respect deer in the Forest and do not let your dog run at large and never let your dog chase deer. In the winter, avoid any areas you expect to be deer wintering yards.

If you want further information about hunting regulations, consult the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry web site and look for the Hunting Regulations, 2015-2016.
